Domegaia strongly supports your privacy. At this time, full use of this forum with all features and privileges does not require your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information. In the past it was necessary to verify your email before being able to post onto the forum – this is no longer the case.
For those who choose to include their email during registration, please know that neither Domegaia nor NodeBB (the forum software and service) harvest any of your personal information. We do not sell or give any information found on this forum, including information found in posts and profiles, to any person, group, agency, or other entity. Verified email addresses are primarily used by the forum system for the benefit and convenience of the user for notifications and for resetting the password. In certain rare situations we may use the email to contact the user directly. Only Domegaia forum administrators have access to these email addresses.
We support your privacy by granting full forum access only to fully verified users. The verification process begins with the user’s first post. Users gradually become fully verified after several posts have been made and approved by the community. Web crawlers used by search engines such as Google, and users who have not made any posts are not able to view information in the “Matching Builders with Projects” category because of the personal nature of these posts. Users who have not made any posts are not able to use the chat system.
This forum runs on opensource NodeBB forum software and is hosted for a fee on NodeBB servers. Compared to proprietary software, opensource software has a reputation of being harmless, by it’s nature of being open for inspection by anyone at anytime. However, opensource software is more prone to cyber attack for the same reason – it is open for inspection by anyone, including malicious hackers, at anytime.
With the exception of the "Matching Builders with Projects" category, all content posted on this forum is indexed by search engines such as Google.
This forum system is not end-to-end encrypted. It is public knowledge, since 2013, that high-level government agencies illegally intercept, analyze, and permanently store essentially all internet activity.
